Job Description: Provide direct TSVI services for districts/cooperatives who have a student(s) with a visual impairment. A moderate amount of independent judgment is required in prioritizing, arranging, and performing various job duties. Work assigned with some general instructions by the immediate supervisor. Maintain professional records and data to keep Field Services and or campus department informed of all current and potential developments regarding caseload/district needs. Knowledge of IEP process, multi-disciplinary approach. General knowledge of current trends in technology, including accessibility. Knowledge of technology used for distance communication. (Ex: Zoom) Working independently.

- Job Description: The Developmental Vision Specialist provides specialized early intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) who are blind or visually impaired (BVI), as well as their families. Services are delivered in natural environments, including homes, childcare settings, and other community-based locations.

Speech-Language Pathologist (Part-Time)

- Schedule: Varies based on student needs. Follows the Kansas State School for the Blind school calendar.
- Job Description:
- Conduct individual and/or group speech-language therapy as mandated by the IEP process with students utilizing standardized tests, therapist-made tests, curriculum, and any other materials and/or tests deemed necessary.
- Perform work associated with student therapy, including assembling appropriate materials, monitoring student progress toward IEP goals, and collaborating, as necessary, with staff to support students.
- Communicate with parent(s)/legal guardian(s),as needed.
- Maintain control of students.
- All requirements as mandated by the State and/or school will be met (i.e., Medicaid).
- Use appropriate communication skills with students, staff, parent(s)/legal guardian(s), and the public.
- Complete all scheduled reports, including but not limited to student comprehensive re-evaluations, progress monitoring, IEPs, department reports, and other reporting as assigned; reports are due by the specified due date to maintain current school records and compliance.

Instructional Assistant Early Childhood Preschool Program

- Job Description:
The Early Childhood Instructional Assistant performs any combination of instructional and hygiene-related tasks to work with children, ages 6 weeks to 6 years, individually or in small groups, to promote the acquisition of Expanded Core Curriculum skills established by the State of Kansas, the Kansas State School for the Blind, and directives of lead supervisor and/or manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Emphasized Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) domains, which are unique to students with a visual impairment. These include age-appropriate Braille readiness, communication, orientation and mobility readiness, social skills, independent living skills, technology, sensory efficiency skills, self-determination, and much more!
